Challenging Times
Present opportunities for us to grow and evolve!
During the last few decades many of us have got used to having our needs and desires met instantaneously by others, whose ability to survive depended upon the model of supply and demand. When situations occur that start to interfere with these processes, such as lack of supply and rising costs, we have thrown our hands up in horror and sank further into a pit of negativity and desperation. It is when we are in this challenging moment, seeing the world outside of ourselves struggling, that we need to go to our WORLD WITHIN
This doesn’t only work for those material requests we have but also for those unanswered deeper questions about love, life and living.
You may think this is a promise that has no substance, but if you are willing to put in the work of going within to that part of yourself which does have the answers you are looking for, you will discover how much it can help you.
Our perspective of ourselves is fundamental - if we see ourself as deserving or achieving then we will greatly benefit from this positive aspect on life. However, many see themselves as victims of a world that is unfair, unjust and unequal and as a result suffer in the process.
Our sub-conscious mind is a wonderful storage area for those stories we have told ourselves and those judgements we have made and accepted as a result of those experiences we have had since birth.
We take on the beliefs of others and tell ourselves what we can expect from life. We often see ourselves as not having much choice in the matter, or at the very best, that choice being restricted to the life situation we are born into and as a result having to accept just what life has to offer us.
It is only when we begin to realise who we truly are that we start to discover the power we have to create the life we want, but alongside that we also have to sift through those hurts we have taken on board and those judgements we have accepted about ourselves.
As our world crashes down around us and change is forced upon us it is natural to worry and become fearful. We live in a world of cause and effect. We judge our life happenings around health, wealth and relationships as being good or bad and blame events outside of ourselves for delivering those effects rather than accepting that it was our thinking that made it so. Our minds are the instruments which have delivered those events, experiences, people and circumstances that show up in our lives.
I remember as a young child being confronted with the words “….and who do you think you are?” How I wish I had been able to reply “I am a beloved child of God” but it would be many years before I would learn to discover this aspect of myself.
When I was growing up God and religion was for the grown ups and when it was taught at school it was the dreariest lesson on the curriculum. It seemed always to be couched in language that was hard to understand and the meaning of the stories never came alive as they were never fully explained. Quotes and statements remained like concrete stuck in the period of their time and deeper concepts were never unravelled as the blind led the blind!
Classical education reserved for the elite made some headway into this strange land of mystical language and secrecy which could only be unlocked if one asked the ‘right’ questions and had the ‘suitably enlightened’ teacher to answer them.
However, ages come and go along the pathway of life and evolution continues to open up new avenues of understanding which allows change to come about little by little. At first the bearers of new ideas are often treated with criticism and disdain, but this is because many fear change and deeper insights often bring this about.
As humans we judge each other by the body, personality, behaviour and temperament by which we present ourselves. Whether young or old we are all souls at the centre of our being so have inbuilt intelligence far greater than our human brain. We have a deep-rooted soul intelligence, a divine intelligence and a much higher level of understanding than we give ourselves credit for.
We see our life and our world as dualistic and join in that imaginary game by cloaking ourselves in our ego as we go into battle for gain over loss, success over failure and happiness over despondency. If we manage to tick all those boxes we think we have achieved a good life.
If only we could see the reality of our being, that as consciousness we have created the circumstances of our lives and as consciousness we have the power to change them if they are not suiting us. This may seem like a fanciful statement but it is the truth of who we are and what we can achieve as beings created from the God force. Our challenge now is to embrace that belief and take up our inheritance of living as the God force we are, as the Divine intelligence that we have and the Love that we are made of.
There is a well known phrase that says “just when the caterpillar thought the world was over it became a butterfly”. We have been caterpillars for aeons of time but now we are moving into new territory as we try to come to terms with what is happening in our world today.
We are now in the process of recognising that our old caterpillar body no longer works for us and must be discarded. Because of this we can all be forgiven for thinking the worst of times is upon us. However, we should grasp the real opportunity that is being presented to us and that is to discover another part of us that is awakening, another part of us that can create a better world than we have ever known before.
This new world will not be just for the lucky few but will be for everyone, whose right to live in the beauty and sustenance this planet offers is paramount.
We are beginning to uncover as yet unrecognised and unused skills which will allow us to tune in to a higher level of being where we can access our divine aspect. Once we link to our heart space and listen to the voice that we hear in our WORLD WITHIN we will begin to understand that is where we can access our divine nature and our link with God. Once we have achieved this we will be able to fly - just like the butterfly!
We will then see all humanity as our family and be more able to live in peace. We will be willing to share and able to live more sustainably. We will be happier as a result and will have evolved significantly - which, after all, is the whole point of incarnation!
