Experiencing Joy as you resonate with others in Oneness.

This can happen anytime, anywhere and you can have the experience of it alone or within the company of others. Feeling your bliss is an elusive ‘animal’ until you find it and then you realise it is something you want to spend the rest of your time with.

Writers try and describe it, which is an impossible task because it is something you have to feel and be with on the most personal intensive level. Mystics spend many years trying to discover it and enter into that state of being and once found, try to remain there for their entire lives.

So where does that leave the rest of us?

During our many lifetimes in the dimensional aspect of planet earth we will have experienced Divine love in its diluted form - as a child being held in the arms of loving parents, a moment of intense sexual encounter with a lover or experiencing the birth of a child.

Even sitting with the dying and connecting with the God force that we personally recognise, will have opened the door to us, albeit briefly, to allow us to experience that feeling of knowing that there is something bigger and more powerful than ourselves. For many of us, that indescribable feeling that we recognise at a deep soul level, sets us on a path of discovery - the stirring of which will not leave us until we have discovered its source, its meaning and where it is within ourselves. But of course every discovery, every truth and every moment of pure joy begins with us going into our WORLD WITHIN.

Recently I sat in an informal gathering with a group of people, some of whom were from different parts of the world - most of whom I had only recently met. Whilst some were complete strangers to me, I had the feeling that I had known every one of them before and a few of them for a very long time.

The most wonderful experiences usually happen spontaneously and are usually most unexpected. We were there listening to a wise old soul, who shared his thoughts and recollections of a life well lived in truth. This stirred within each of us remembrance of personal memories and insights and resulted in us all merging in vibrational alignment with those higher aspects of ourselves and each other. This resonance resulted in a beautiful and profound experience of Oneness.

As I looked around the room at those present I could feel the energy and recognise where everyone was and the part they were playing. The feeling of love within our hearts and minds had expanded and together we appeared as one within the great Source which we call life.

It was a good sign at the end that nobody wanted to stir or get up and move away (but of course we all had to return to our individual consciousness and separate lives.) Most importantly, however, we were given the gift of carrying with us that moment of joy and bliss and acceptance of each other as well as acceptance of ourselves and where we are in the great scheme of things.

For many years I followed Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba who taught (much like Jesus did) with pithy sayings - one of which comes to mind:

A devotee asked “How do we go about changing the world?”

Sai Baba's reply was: “change yourself” and by that he meant “love yourself”.

If you change yourself, people around you will change, if people around you change, then your village (or town) will change.

If your village or town changes, then your area will change.

If your area changes then your country will change.

If your country changes then your continent will change.

If your continent changes the world will change. Sai Baba

Change starts from within. Indeed it cannot change from anywhere else, because you are the only living being (consciousness) that you have control over - so know it, grasp it and work with it. That is the only thing you need to do in life.

As we move on this journey of life we will begin to resonate at a vibrational level which will attract to us those people of a similar outlook and we will then find ourselves thinking and being in sync with others and our lives will be made happier through it. We will begin to recognise the oneness in all, and with that, will come the joy of knowing and being - being in the moment, being in the presence, being in the joy and feeling our bliss.

Who would have thought that such great things could happen sitting in a room with a group of strangers - so don’t knock it next time you have the opportunity to do so (remember a stranger is a friend you haven’t met yet) and you could end up sitting next to a soul member of your tribe!
