Healing Ourselves Heals our World
Understanding the truth of who we are and the power we have.
If there is only One New Year’s Resolution you make for 2024 let it be the one that says: Discover who you really are and what you should do about it.
Every one on this planet is on a journey to discover the part they can play in transforming themselves and the earth we live upon. When you uncover the truth of who you really are, your world will open up and you will bring to light the real power that can change your own personal experience as well as contributing to life in all its complexities.
For a long time humanity en masse has been living from their ego self (that part of us that says me first before anyone else). But this is not just about allowing someone into the queue before us at the cinema.
Humanity has developed far beyond the mentality of the caveman but we still act like him (or her) when we feel over-looked, threatened or deceived. We still hold many injustices, failings and disappointments within us and they are all comfortably settled into our sub-conscious ready to come to the fore at a moment’s notice to remind us of past hurts and protect us from threats.
The sub-conscious is where all our fears, phobias and restrictive patterns have gathered with the ego, which is always ready to defend us and our corner; and together they try to convince us that this is who we are. When we understand this and then begin to witness our actions, emotions and thinking, we begin to realise that this way of living is no longer serving us.
Why would I say this? Because I know that living this way only allows you to have a victory for a brief moment and the downside of that belief and subsequent action can contribute detrimentally to your health, your world and your life.
We only have to look at the world stage and consider the many wars that have been promised as being ‘the end of all wars’ and yet they continue.
When you start to become conscious you will begin to realise that there is another part of you which seems to have a much broader and kinder, understanding and acceptance of life. It seems to be more tolerant, willing to change and becomes stronger and more supportive and comforting in adversity.
This discovery is not new - many over the centuries have embarked upon this journey of awakening and subsequent change. Looking back in history we can identify many who have transformed themselves in this way and instead of just being another speck of life, expressing itself in human form, with all its limitations, they chose to transform themselves by realising who they really were and as a result of this discovered and harnessed their inner power to build their own lives in line with their true natures. By doing this they were able to unleash a creative expression they held within themselves and as a result contributed meaningful and useful ideas to our world of form. So how did they do this?
By controlling their thoughts and emotions they were able to go on a journey to their WORLD WITHIN where they discovered their inner power and they then learned how to harness it to consciously create their lives.
Such people have stood out in history as their accomplishments allowed them to be recognised for the good they achieved and the legacies they left behind for others. Inventors have been inspired by a force greater than themselves, artists and sculptors have developed their skills in order that we could be uplifted by the beauty of their art and writers and poets have inspired us with their literature.
Individuals have displayed great courage and fortitude that is rarely seen viz. Anglican Church envoy Terry Waite was held for more than four years in captivity by Shiite muslim kidnappers in Lebanon in 1987 and during that time decided not to take advantage of an opportunity to escape because it could have involved him killing another person.
Nelson Mandela was a South African anti-apartheid activist and politician who served as the first president of South Africa from 1994 to 1999. He was the country's first black head of state and the first elected in a fully representative democratic election but it meant he spent 27 years in prison for leading the African National Congress (ANC) which opposed apartheid policies that kept South Africa's Black residents segregated, often in inhumane conditions.
All these people and countless others have informed us, educated us, inspired us and given great service to others. They were able to do this because they accessed and harnessed a level of consciousness that enabled them to show great strength in adversity, courage in danger and enlightenment when in ignorance. They were able to dig deep into their very being in sacrifice and dedication in the face of impossible odds making great strides in their lives and contributing immensely to the world and its peoples.
Just like them we can all become masters in our own lives too and with the world in the state that it is now, it is even more important for all of us to embark upon this inner journey of discovery and awakening to our own individual and collective inner life force and power. In these changing and troublesome times (when all the negative sub-consciousness of the collective is rising up to be healed and cleared) it will become your Divine weapon to use, not only to protect yourself, but to play your part in healing the world. That is why your soul chose this time in the history of this planet to incarnate.
We are all playing different parts and roles and even though we judge some fellow humans to be ‘evil’ they are also playing their part in the great plan of the planet as it moves into another dimension of expression carrying everything and everyone upon it into a new level of being. This is our challenge in this day and age and everyone is involved!
Yes - there is a lot more to us than we have previously realised! We are continually creating and expressing new ideas but these are not always initially met with acceptance. Think how suspicious and fearful the cave man was when he first saw and experienced fire - the first double-edged sword if ever there was one! Fire has the ability to destroy, but harnessed by humankind has become a master tool of energy for civilisation (from cooking to bending steel.)
From the first telephone call made by Alexander Graham Bell right up to the launch of the internet, we have enabled communication around the world to open up and provide us with new ways in which to live our daily lives - yet another example of how inspiration from the higher mind has enabled humankind to progress.
We are never stagnant, as the only constant in this world of form is change. We are all made up of energy. It is somewhat paradoxical that as Artificial Intelligence breaks upon our scene some of us will welcome it while others will fear it; yet for many centuries we have ignored our own inner higher aspect of intelligence and power by using it irresponsibly to manifest a world of lack, selfishness and greed. How much worse can it get?
As we move into a higher frequency on this planet we will be able to embrace those higher aspects of ourselves and when we do this we will see our lives change for the better. We will find it much easier to do this once we realise we are much greater than the sum of our parts and have an inbuilt ability to discover more about our inner selves than we ever realised before. This really is the time to look within for those future discoveries that will help our individual selves.
Just as it is important to put the lifejacket on yourself first of all, before putting it on another, it is also important that we all attend to the healing of our own inner child before we do anything else.
Going within and discovering that we are really a spiritual being having an earthly experience in a body on a planet, gives us the understanding and credentials to take up our real self.
Our God self is who we really are and we should be expressing this part of ourselves to the world through the infinite intelligence we have linked into through our Higher Self. This is going to be the way forward to enable us to heal ourselves and our world.
